DedicationOccasions Caterers is the exclusive Certified Green RestaurantTMCatererin the Metropolitan D.C. area.In 2008, Occasions Caterers became a Certified Green Restaurant™ Caterer, and the first full-service catering company in the nation to meet this environmental mark. Leading the eco-friendly charge, Occasions Caterers achieved certification of green status upon implementation of environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with the Green Restaurant Association’s rigorous guidelines.To achieve part one of the program , Occasions Caterers completed four steps: 

•Installed Low Flow Spray Valves in the kitchen for water conservation

•Implemented Recycled and Chlorine-Free Menu & Office Paper

•Replaced all Styrofoam products

•Developed a Recycling & Composting program internally and at all off-site events Green mission: Occasions is committed to creating environmentally sustainable events and conducting daily operations in a way which conserves natural resources and protects the environment.

•Acommitment to produce events which are beautiful, tasteful and stylish, but which also have a low impact on the environment. 

•A dedication to working with suppliers, vendors, and employees to incorporate environmental considerations into all business decisions. 

•A responsibility to achieve reductions in the generation and disposal of waste.

•A continuous collaboration with The Green Restaurant Association every year to complete their program. Over the past year, Occasions Caterers has further reduced the impact on the surrounding environment in many ways. We have partnered with purveyors to use locally-sourced, organic, and sustainable products. We have switched to biodegradable service-ware, trash bags, and organic fair-trade coffee. We recycle used cooking oil, use eco-friendly cleaning supplies and print everything on post-consumer recycled paper.
