Mallowdrama

Based in Reston, Virginia, MallowDrama offers desserts with a dramatic flair, specializing in cakes, cupcakes, and chocolate truffles for weddings and social, corporate, and community events in the metropolitan DC area and beyond.  MallowDrama is owned by husband and wife team Mary & David Supley Foxworth, who share responsibilities for baking, designing, and producing each of the cakes.  Everything are made fresh to order, using natural ingredients (except where food coloring is required for custom decoration), with sustainability and community always in mind, and the cakes and truffles taste as good as they look!  Vegan and gluten-free cakes and truffles are available upon request, as are cakes and truffles made entirely from organic ingredients.

MallowDrama offers highly personalized service and enjoys working with clients to design one-of-a-kind creations for their events.  In addition, MallowDrama serves its clients through its commitment to the environment and to its community.  Mary and David have looked at every aspect of the business to implement practices that minimize its impact on the environment – from recycling and composting to selection of ingredients and supplies to minimizing packaging, and much more.  Their cakes and truffles are made with organic eggs, dairy, and sugar and MallowDrama uses locally grown fruits, vegetables, and dairy products when possible.  They choose reusable alternatives to disposable products (such as cloth dish towels instead of paper towels) and look for items that are made with recycled content or otherwise eco-friendly for supplies and tools in our kitchen and in our office.  The couple always looks for products with minimal packaging and, where packaging is necessary, look for those that can be recycled or composted.  In their own products, they use minimal packaging; their bakery boxes and cupcake liners are compostable.  In the kitchen, MallowDrama composts all of their kitchen scraps and recycles as much as possible.  Since products are made to order, there is minimal waste.  They use natural soaps and detergents, and their chef’s jackets, company t-shirts, and kitchen towels are made from organic cotton.  Appliance and light bulbs are energy-efficient, and many handmade processes are used (rather than automation) to conserve energy.  The thermostat is set to conserve energy for heating and cooling.  MallowDrama also supports its community through frequent donations and fundraisers.
